Angela Scolding has always kept a sketch book. Her inspiration comes from nature; splashes of colour can be the beginning of a project, not necessarily a shape.
She also jots down poetry she hears and enjoys, this too can be a starting point or contribute to a piece of work.
Textile Practice
Angela uses wool and silk fibres to make felt. The alchemy of transforming wisps of wool into a sturdy piece of cloth is always exciting and however carefully planned, unpredictable! Colours melt together and blend to form magical fabrics that can be stitched into and manipulated
