Jenny Parker
Statement of Work
Jenny is a mixed media artist, whose work reflects a desire to draw the viewer in. Recently she has been fascinated by the traces left behind by the people of the past, in contrast to the inherent resilience of nature. Her ideas are usually interpreted as abstract works.
Textile Practice
It is Jenny’s original idea which informs the choice of materials and techniques she uses to bring a piece to life. She has many favourites, including stitch, paint and the use of recycled items. Techniques that she employs include stitch, weaving, basketry and print, amongst others, and she will often create three dimensional pieces.
