Julia Gahagan
Statement of Work
Julia finds inspiration from the natural world through walking and cycling in the countryside and along the coast and she enjoys travel to the Mediterranean, especially the Greek islands. She records these travels in sketch books and journals to provide constant inspiration for her textile pieces.
Textile Practice
Julia enjoys both hand and machine stitching on small textile pieces and particularly loves to make miniature quilts. More recently she is experimenting with recycled fabric and vintage linen to create textured backgrounds for appliqué work.
