Statement of Work
Nina O’Connor is studying for a Diploma in Art and Contemporary Crafts and takes inspiration from different sources, but is often drawn to line and texture derived from the natural world.
Her practice is currently influenced by her studies which have exposed her to a broad mix of materials and techniques including moulding and casting, paper-making, monoprint, collagraph, weaving and wrapping. She has a preference for natural fabrics and hand made papers, These are sometimes printed, layered or collaged, with stitch marks and texture added by hand or machine within the process. Development of ideas has recently resulted in prints from stitch presented as small three-dimensional books.
