The natural world often inspires her work , abstracting what she sees and often using words and phrases linked to the chosen subject. Cutting into the fabric, once painted and printed, can often lead to layering and stitch to achieve the desired effect.
Textile Practice
Ruth uses the creative exploration processes such as painting, printing, stitching and embellishment and will often layer fabrics to achieve the effect she is pursuing.
