Statement of Work

Sarah is a mixed media artist who likes to evoke a sense of place, atmosphere and narrative in her work and she is often inspired by her travels. She has frequently taken both the built environment and the landscape as her subjects, but she has recently developed this by also looking at interiors and portraits.

Textile Practice

Sarah enjoys using a variety of materials including paint, paper and fabric to create mixed media works. She likes to create a sense of depth and texture and enjoys using colour and pattern in her work, often working in layers. Sarah mainly hand stitches but she is planning to learn more machine embroidery techniques to incorporate these into her work.
